Alexander Bazhenov

Alexander worked at the Development and Foreign Economic Affairs Bank (Vnesheconombank) as the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Center for Project Finance, OJSC and Head of PPP (Public Private Partnership) Center for ten years. He is the former Eurasian Water Partnership’s vice-president and the former Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board at the Russian Utility Systems, OJSC. He also worked with Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux, the world’s largest private infrastructure services company, as Deputy Director for Central and Eastern Europe, and previously as Director of A.T. Kearney international consulting firm in Moscow office and Deputy Director of the “Salyut” design bureau (today’s Khrunichev State Space Center). Alexander served on the Boards of various public companies and Vnesheconombank subsidiaries.

Mr. Bazhenov is a Master of Science in aerospace engineering from Bauman State Technical University in Moscow. He has Diploma in public and municipal administration from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Alexander attended numerous executive programs at Harvard University’s J.F. Kennedy School of Government.

He is one of the founders of the PPP Chair at Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

Mr. Bazhenov is a member of the UNECE Business Advisory Board on PPPs and other numerous public and corporate advisory boards.

Alexander was awarded a second-class medal of the Order of Merit for the Motherland. He was recognized as the best GR manager in banking sector by the Russian association of managers in 2011.
