Alexander worked for the Russian development bank (Vnesheconombank) as the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Center for Project Finance and head of PPP Center for nine years. He is the former Eurasian Water Partnership’s vice-president and the former Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board at the Russian Utility Systems. He also was Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux, the world’s largest private infrastructure services company’s Deputy Director for Central and Eastern Europe, Director of A.T. Kearney international consulting firm Moscow office and Deputy Director of the “Salyut” design bureau (today’s Khrunichev State Space Center). Alexander served on the boards of various public companies and Vnesheconombank subsidiaries.
Mr. Bazhenov is a Master of Science in aerospace engineering from Bauman State Technical University in Moscow (with honors). He has Diploma in public and municipal administration from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Alexander attended numerous executive programs at Harvard University’s J.F. Kennedy School of Government.
Mr. Bazhenov is a member of the UNECE Business Advisory Board on PPPs and other numerous public and corporate advisory boards. He is one of the founders of the PPP Chair at the Government of the Russian Federation’s Financial University.
For his public service, Alexander was awarded the Order of Merit for the Motherland, second-class. He was recognized as the best GR manager in banking sector by the Russian association of managers in 2011.
